Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will?

Auditions September 18th and 19th from 6pm to 9pm

Show dates: December 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th, and 9th.

The Maury County Arts Guild is pleased to announce open auditions for our upcoming production of Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will? -- Directed by Jerry Henderson

We welcome performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities.

This show is for auditioners 18 and up. 

Set in a small Texas town in anytime, U.S.A., Daddy's Dyin' concerns the reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically as well as mentally disabling stroke. In essence, however, it is not the story of the impending demise of the father or of the drafting of his will, but of a rebirth of the spirit of the family unit.

Characters:

SARA LEE TURNOVER, 36, the middle sister. Twenty pounds overweight, the town beautician, sports a bleached beehive. Single and still lives at home. Strong-willed and has a wonderful sense of humor.

LURLENE TURNOVER ROGERS, 42, the oldest sister. A preacher's wife and elementary school teacher. Attractive, stylish, very Christian-but she has a bite.

MAMA WHEELIS, 80, the Turnover children's grand mother. She's fiesty, speaks her mind, and rules the household.

EVALITA TURNOVER, 35, the youngest sister. Six-times married, loves to shock her family. She was a beauty-and still is from a distance. Has a worn look about her. A wounded soul.

HARMONY RHODES, 36, Evalita's latest fiance. A musician and vegetarian. Attractive, tan, off-beat, long curly hair. Looks like Jesus with earrings. Has a past.

ORVILLE TURNOVER, 38, the brother. Fat, abusive, unhappy and mean. A redneck trash collector.

BUFORD "DADDY" TURNOVER, 67, the father. A stroke victim. Partially paralyzed on his left side, but can walk with a slight limp. Has occasional moments of coherency.

MARLENE TURNOVER, 36, Orville's wife. Temporarily overweight. A constant victim of Orville's abuse. However, losing. sixty-two pounds can boost a girl's confidence.

TAP presents Clue

Auditions March 25th and 26th from 6pm to 9pm

Show dates: June 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, and 15th

The Maury County Arts Guild's Teen Arts Program is pleased to announce open auditions for our upcoming production of Clue -- Directed by Sabrina Norton

We welcome performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities.

This show is for teen auditioners ages 13 to 19. 

Please be prepared for cold readings from the script. You may be requested to stay for the length of the audition for reading chemistry.

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT! 

Characters:

 

Wadsworth
Male
A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play.

 

Yvette
Female
A sexy, French Maid, with her own secret aspirations. (Also plays THE REPORTER in the final scene).

 

Miss Scarlet
Female
A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam who is more interested in secrets than sex.

 

Mrs. Peacock
Female
The church-going wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.

 

Mrs. White
Female
A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.

 

Colonel Mustard
Male
A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man.

 

Professor Plum
Male
An academic Casanova who woos women with his big … brain.

 

Mr. Green
Male
A timid, yet officious, rule follower. He’s a bit of a klutz and awfully anxious.

THE COOK – A threatening presence.
THE MOTORIST – A benign gentleman who rings the wrong doorbell.
AUXILIARY SCARLET – The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery.
AUXILIARY WADSWORTH – Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
AN AGENT – An FBI agent who helps to save the day.

MR. BODDY – A mobster type fella. A dark cloud follows this guy wherever he goes.
THE COP — A “Regular Joe.”
AUXILIARY MUSTARD – The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery.
AUXILIARY WADSWORTH – Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
AN AGENT – An FBI agent who helps to save the day.

The Wizard of Oz

The Maury County Arts Guild is pleased to announce open auditions for our upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz -- Directed by Denisa Jones

We welcome performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities.

This show is for auditioners 6 and up. 

Please prepare 16 measures/1 verse 1 chorus from any Broadway musical with track (NO A cappella auditions please). Be prepared for cold readings from the script. You may be requested to stay for the length of the audition for reading chemistry.

The Wizard of Oz (1939) is a classic fantasy film that tells the story of Dorothy Gale, a young girl who is transported by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical Land of OzAlong with her dog Toto, she follows the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City, where she hopes to meet the Wizard who can help her return homeOn her journey, she befriends a Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion, who each have a wish to fulfill.
